Dorset - Ruins of Corfe Castle

The ruins of Corfe Castle lies in the heart of the breathtaking Purbeck Hills. The castle was once a defensive site in the Roman times. In the 11th Century the Castle was rebuilt in stone by William the Conqueror and for the next six hundred years was a royal fortress used
by the monarchs of England.

The Swanage Steam railway runs towards the Jurassic Coast catching many
historic sites and some spectacular views.


Corfe, where the dinosaurs once roamed around in the Jurassic period.
